Immoral words

Apprently in Ireland the people who control the domain registry (i.e. the registration of domain names) deem 'porn' to be an immoral word. What the hell does that mean? This is pretty bizarre - how can a word even be immoral? Is Ireland really that backward?

Quote:
And who are the IE Domain Registry and the Companies Registration Office to decide what’s moral, immoral, offensive, and inoffensive? Do they carry out surveys once a year, asking people which words are offensive and immoral?

Just returned from working 3

Just returned from working 3 years in the Republic and it is far from backward. In infact the standared of living is the second highest in Europe and well above the UKs. Never new about this "porn" word bieng classed as immoral. The Govenor of the Bank of Ireland was recently sacked for viewing porn on an office computer. When reported the word was all over the papers and nobody flinched at the word.

I used to work for North Lincolnshire Education Authority. Like many education authorities they dissable swear words and access to porn. Probelm was when they first set the system up, we could not type in our authorities own address because it included the word Scunthorpe. For three weeks we had to replace the letter "u" with "o".
