America First? - Abortion and reproductive justice post Trump, MayDay rooms, London, 23rd July, 6pm

Submitted by AngryWorkersWorld on July 15, 2017

Join some AngryWorkers for a discussion with two activists from the States involved in the Redstockings and National Women's Liberation collectives to hear about the landscape for women in post-Trump America. We will be asking them about how the struggles for abortion access and reproductive justice more widely (access to welfare, employment, healthcare etc.) are developing in response to a newly invigorated right-wing agenda. This will also be an opportunity for groups working on similar issues over here to exchange experiences and see what we can learn from each other. This is especially important at this critical juncture where the political discourse around austerity is shifting, the far-right feel more confident, abortion access is being debated in the mainstream media, and grassroots struggles are effectively challenging anti-abortion pickets.

We will be putting up the minutes from the previous meeting (which was about workplace organising) on the blog very soon!
