Guatemalan civil war talk - Kings X - Wed 16th April 7pm

Ronald is a great public speaker, and this is a chance to get some real insight into a political situation that rarely registers in Britain.

Final Silence
- A novel from Guatemala by Ronald Flores
Wednesday 16th April, 7pm

Set in the aftermath of Guatemalan civil war, Final Silence is a compelling drama that explores the emotional wounds that blighted a generation. This book is unique because it is the second of only two Guatemalan novels to have been published in English since 2006, and won the prestigious Mario Monteforte Toledo literary prize open to writers in Central America.

We are delighted to welcome Ronald Flores, who will be flying in from Guatemala especially for the event to talk about the novel and the political situation in Guatemala. Ronald will be joined by the translator of the novel, Gavin O’Toole.
