Kendal Anarchist Fair

Kendal Anarchist Fair 25th September

Come for workshops, lots of stalls, knitting, bike maintenance, wild food and cake.

Workshop Programme:

11am Housing/Workers Co-ops
12pm The History of Struggle
1pm What is Anarchy?
2pm Intro to Feminism
3pm Making Decisions Without Leaders

Not your usual anarchist fair- the aim is to reach out to local people- some active in the environmental scene, others not but just interested- with the aim of introducing people to anarchy and get people thinking and making the connections. If you are an anarchist wanting to make connections with other anarchists living up North, then would be great to meet you and network.

Saturday 25th September
10.30 am til 4pm
Shakespeare Centre, Kendal
(Kendal is a town in South Lakes, Cumbria accessible via Oxenholme train station- then either a short train into kendal town centre, or a bus, or 15 mins cycle)

Email anarchyupnorth@riseup.net for more details.

Next time we'll organise it in Barbados..?

And yeah knitting- DIY clothes making, reskilling people, making our own woolly jumpers rather than an exploited woman in a sweatshop- ya get me..?

On the train back home last night I overheard two ladies talking about knitting. One said she likes to have a stitch and bitch night with her girls. smile

Perhaps mention the location of the Shakespeare Centre - I seem to recall it's just off the main shopping street?

The Shakespeare Centre is up an alleyway next to the Shakespeare pub which is on the main street in kendal- called highgate. If you are driving, it is on the one way system through the centre of kendal on the left. If you are coming by train, into kendal, come out of the train station, cross over the road and walk up the street to the slight left next to a hotel. Carry on over the bridge and walk straight ahead til you get to some traffic lights- cross over and walk up the street straight ahead slightly to the left- keep walking up til you get to the main shopping area and then ask for directions!
