Last night my gf rented The Edukators, which we'd wanted to watch for ages. After this thread on here I was worried it might be really shite, but I thought it was really good.

A lot of the politics bits were a bit cringing and embarrassing (lefty patronisingness, etc.), but the relationship between the characters was pretty intense, and the main girl in it had this cool unconventional German cuteness. Which was nice.

So what's the last film you watched, and how was it?

Well yeah but that did have Natalie Portman in it, which pretty much excuses watching anything. Including Closer, which fucking sucked (revol...).

Wag the Dog - that the Dustin Hoffman film with the fake war? That looked so shite! Was it really good? eek

Could I also just point out that revol is projecting his view of me (i.e. he thinks that I'm like Zach Braff), onto my intentions (i.e. that I might be trying to be like Zach Braff). That said, I'd happily act like Zach Braff if it meant I could get off with Elliot from Scrubs embarrassed

"Mean Creek" I downloaded it off bearshare bumbum most beautifully shot film I've ever seen. There's a really fat kid in it which I think is hilarious, but seriously amazing film.

The fuck is Zach Braff?

Wag the Dog was quite cheesy but I still think it was pretty good. Yeah it was the one about the fake war, about spin doctors manipulating media events, war footage, that kind of thing to decieve people. And it had whatshisname from Natural Born Killers in, which is nice.

Oh right, that guy. I saw him on Punk'd, they got some kid to pretend to trash his big stupid car and he went apeshit trying to beat up this 10year old kid saying how he was going to jail forever and his worthless life was over. He was a knob.

Yeah yeah so it wasn't very clever. But it's nice to have a break from surrealist french film once in a while. Light entertainment, and more interesting than some shit Ben Stiller movie....

And I never studied sociology, that sounds like a deliberate smear angry

Good for you. Stop trying to be so much cooler than everyone else. Or I'll ban you for a week.

And I''ll take the Ben Stiller thing back this far - Mystery Men was good. But he's fucking painfully bad to watch in every other film I've seen him in.

Was that supposed to be a "clever" surrealist joke?

And Napoleon Dynamite is indeed the shizzle, it gets funnier the more you watch it.

Peepshow is abit like that as well.

azumi is amazing, i can't wait to see azumi 2. but the last film i saw was the end of desperado, but we recorded it when it was repeated so i'll be able to see the amazing bar scene again! before that it was the godfather again i think. i hate being at uni in the uk, i can't spend all my time watching films any more, i've got salt of the earth, master of the flying guillotine, invincible pole fighter, raging bull, libertarias, serpico, sin city, a couple of zatoichis, and the second part of miike's black society trilogy lined up for the end of term next monday though, it's going to be awesome...

Rashomon, they do these screenings at my uni, they have a cinema in the basement. The film did come off the projector with 10 mins to go but it still kicked arse.

Selection's off tho, they followed it with Forrest Gump the next week wtf?
