This thread is really pissing me off.

Y'know a few people have taken some serious slagging on these boards for various percieved crimes against anarchist orthodoxy, be it me and Nick's support for Scottish independence, or random for being into her radical feminism and having the gall to get upset during a discussion about rape, or anyone who hasn't yet aquired a class analysis. The logical approach when encountering someone with no class analysis is to show them the arguments and the evidence, and answer their questions. Generally it gets rammed down their throats.

This thread is beyond the pale however. There's been slander and insult from all corners, and various uninvolved people trying to point out the most obvious thing in the world- that whoever's right on tactical, strategic, and political issues in wombles vs CAG (I'm far from convinced that either is within a lightyear of being right after this) , the one thing that is of absolute certainty is that libertarian groups fighting other libertarian groups will take a lot longer to bring about revolution than libertarian groups fighting the state and capital would.

This is really obvious, kids. And don't give me any bullshit about who said what about whom, rise the fuck above it you bunch of fucktards. Is this a school? Last time I checked this was a board for anti-authoritarians and anarchists, and to me that suggests that we should be acting as if we're seriously engaged in bringing about a fucking revolution.

I don't know enough, nor do I care enough, to have an opinion about who's "right" in this debate, but I've noticed that CAG contains some incredibly arrogant people. But really everyone who's gotten involved in the argument has seemed like an idiot. Often these idiots are very intelligent people, but as I think this thread shows conclusively sometimes the most intelligent people can be the greatest fucktards imaginable.

Ah I see, so you thought you'd come in and repeat the bleeding obvious then?

roll eyes

There have been some really interesting parts of this, interpersed with all the sectarian nonsense and private lives getting a public airing. It's just a shame that certain people have still got a chip on their shoulder despite all the flak they've been getting for it.

Come on Al is only trying to keep the peace, I think this is a bit harsh, although the subsequent points you raise are fair enough.

I know the post was patronising, it was meant to be.

I'm not above any interpersonal dynamic nor do I pretend to be. If I was outside it that would imply I never read or posted to this forum.

I'm above this petty infighting bullshit though.

its kind of entertaining. like listening to a heated discussion in the pub that swings around personal insults and a bit of a goss and then makes sense again for a bit and then nosedives again. its better than eastenders anyway.

somebody buy AnarchoAl a drink and give him a chair.

indeed. i know i have a weird sense of humour due to the fact i laugh when most peole go "eurgh", and i'm incredibly biased infavour of those who don't stick sofas down their pants, and in favour of those that recognise that the power of the workers is in the workplace, to quote some random, probably a vilely trot guy on a redskins record, but i personal think this thread is almost as funny as the one that started it. it is in general after all. and i particularly enjoy the way cag blatantly won whatever you original allegiance on page three the moment gangster popped up in favour of the wombles... that was classic. this should be saved for ever.

I would like to know what people mean by 'class struggle anarchism' today....what is the class struggle today?

Barry Kade, I'd love to answer that question, but just spent a vast amount of time trying to do the same thing (sort of) on this thread:

http://www.urban75.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=104106

and can't face doing it again this week.

Quite why anyone would have any inclination to get (re)involved with the anarchist movement after reading this thread is beyond me.

It's obvivous that WAG are the best, as they combine elements of both the Wombles and cAG.

See, i have already raised the level of this debate.

I just hope that no newbies read this thread first.

Oh please if a bad tempered spat is all that's needed to put folks off participating I'd think very little of the people who fucked off after reading this. Much of the thread has been decent debate, at least from a couple of people, and find me someone on this planet who hasn't had a blazing row or thrown insults about at some point. I've been as vocal as anyone on these boards at trying to calm both sides down but ffs get some perspective it's a childish argument not the end of the world.

"FFS get some prepective" it was a joke and i was refering to current level of debate in the thread.

If you don't think the personal mud slinging in this thread as off putting to most people, you must have a very low opinion of people in general.

actually I was talking about nosos' post, not yours Jason.

It probably means I have a higher opinion than you, because I reckon people can take a thread like this for what it is, an online argument between two specific people/groups and not indicative of everybody involved or the ideology behind the board itself. If people can't then it lowers my opinion rather than confirming it, see?

If the mud-slinging and personal insult is endemic that's another matter (I happen to think it probably is, but only on a very superficial level) that should be decided by taking the forum as a whole, not just from reading one particularly unpleasant thread.

So a newbie comes along and decides to read this thread and has to slog through several pages before a reasonable debate emerges. Don't know how many people could be arsed, but why should they or anybody else be? The forum as a whole has far too much of this sort shite. It seems to be a matter of luck if debates happen that don't descend into using politics as a cover for personal arguements, political point scoring, a fight for a place in a imagined pecking order or just plain abuse.

I'm am not a mind reader, so you can see why i would think your post was directed toward me. A quote would made things clear.

Anyhow i don't want to harp on and on (as unlikely as it seems it's true) i just wish we could have more thoughtful debate and fun and a lot less abusive ranting.

Hey fuck you.

You don't have a fucking clue what CAG does in Colchester so stick your bullshit speculation up your ass alongside your head you fucking idiot. Oddly enough, we have lives outside "the struggle" y'know.

Jesus Christ, if there was a better argument to support CAG...

i would just like to draw everyones attention to the fact that this thread is now an amazing ten pages long. for the benefit of any brave newbies attempting to read this thread, heres a recap on the important lessons learned so far...

1. saving bus stops is good

2. the pope is strangely attracted to catholism

3. trees are defecated on by bears

4. concepts such as mutual aid and solidarity sound good but are in fact

useless and bad except when they are useful and good again

5. the real enemy is out there except when its within us.

6. CAG and the Wombles have penises (except Jess). Some of these

penises are larger or smaller than others.

7. drugs are bad, kids.

8. people in the EF! network are not boring. sometimes they get married.

9. some people like shouting. some people don't.

10. WAG is the crazed product of a sickened mind.

11. when people are talking about things that matter to them, they

sometimes get angry.

12. Against all odds, after 423 posts, Refused is still funny.

13. lucy82 is ace and Jack is a poo-poo head cause he started it. He did share his beer with me though so we are bound together forever by mutual liking across political boundaries. tongue

14. drugs are still bad except (as in the above example) when they're good.

15. the world ended on Sunday Feb 20th at 3.12am when most of us

were asleep.

hope this helps. if your new and you've read to the end of the thread you have passed the enrager initiation process and are now ready to overthrow capitalism.

well done. smile

what a woefull thread!

just wondering what started it- the first page refers to critiques, did the wombles post a critique of CAG (or was that vice versa?)

CAG got a web page?

It all started cos Jack was nearing 1000 posts and I told him to make his 1000th post a good one. Then he posted this pisstake communique from the wombles. Then raw came along and got pissed off. Then it decended into petty accusations and stuff then some real serious debate and now Im bored of the whole malarkey. neutral
