"Danger! Men at Work" Argentina
Hello,
We are Virna Molina and Ernesto Ardito, argentinean filmmakers. I write to you becouse we are working in a film about workers of Zanón. The title is Danger! Men at Work. Is a long length film that will be shot in a High Definition format, with an approximate 90 minutes duration.
Zanon is a factory of ceramic located in Patagonia, south of Argentina. The context, a South American country sunk in the underdevelopment that is going through the most terrible economic crisis in its history.
The manager closes the factory. It takes the workers to its deeper anguish, some abandon, others fight. The State represses them, the community helps them. While this happens, their way of seeing the world begins to transform.
When they are already convinced that nobody will give them a solution, they invent it. By their own means they put the factory into production. They become this way workers without bosses.
Now they are free. They found in their work the tool to grow humanly. They had to study and to overcome themselves, to solve all the areas of the production. They are organized in democratic assemblies. They resist each eviction next to great part of the residents. They do not consider themselves as the new owners of the ceramic factory, on the contrary, they recognize as the only owner the Neuquén community. And they return to the most needed sectors the surplus that the factory gives in donations and new work positions. They are the living witnesses that a change is possible, because they have demonstrated to the world that a factory with no bosses can work, with no workers it can’t.
We made the last year, the research, script and treatment. Now, we are looking for sponsors or donations to begin the filming. We would like to know if you are interested in it. We are independent filmmakers and is very hard for us to find financial contributions.
