this does not make me comfortable...

So iww.org has been acting up and when I last tried to access the site I got this message:

Fatal error: Table 'cache' is marked as crashed and should be repaired query: SELECT data, created, headers FROM cache WHERE cid = 'variables' in /home/gladebur/public_html/includes/database.mysql.inc on line 66

I'm sure it will be fixed, but I would like to start a broader conversation about what should be changed about the international site (i'm sure we all have some ideas) and perhaps we could offer some suggestions directly to Steve.

That's not a serious error, just needs some administration.

I've said this on three threads now, but all the effort going into making individual sites for every small iww branch in the world should be expended on the main iww.org site so it can handle multiple different sites, with varying level of integration - content of each could be controlled by branches still but the administration would be centralised. That's the whole point of being in an organisation isn't it?

Please, yes! anyone with drupal admin experience (or who wants to learn) join the sysadmin list and give a hand.

Agreed. Centralizers of the world, unite! You have nothing to lose but your disorganization and duplication of effort!

(I mean centralized administration, not decision-making.) Since I know nothing about any of this tech stuff, though, I'm useless on this front.

I know umpteen wobs who are dead into exactly what Catch is talking about but none of them know that there is such a sysadmin list, and I certainly never until I saw this post. Can you provide more details?

OK, I just did.

I will post more to this thread later.
