Norwich's 3rd Annual Anarchist Bookfair - June 10th 2006

Submitted by Tug on 23 November, 2005 - 16:55.

Next year we're moving to a much bigger, city centre venue. The Bookfair is going to be in Blackfriar's Hall (adjacent to St Andrew's Hall) from 10am - 6pm, followed by a gig in St Andrew's Hall in the evening from 7pm. Everythings still in its early stages but it's set to be a much bigger and better bookfair than the previous two.

We're not taking official stall bookings quite yet but those that are planning to come can get in touch to make a preliminary booking to ensure they get offered stalls first.

We're also hoping to get more people involved in the organising this year so anyone wanting to help out please get in touch either on 07941 657485 or at norwichanarchists@hotmail.com. circle A

I know that announcing this is a bit premature but just wanted to avoid any conflict with dates if other groups are planning events and to make sure people knew well in advance it was at a different venue.

Nice one for planning ahead!

Mind you, shed loads of groups will still moan that they didn't know wink

Why have you changed the venue? I thought that parky pavilion place was good, the only thing lacking was the number of people attending. Wherever it is I hope to be attending again.

23 November, 2005 - 22:40

We changed the venue because we are hoping that the new venue will attract more people. The new one is in the city centre so hopefully we will bring in people who are just in the city on saturday doing some shopping or whatever. And, as tug said, this one will be bigger than the others, so we needed a bigger venue.

I think there may have been other reasons too, but I cant remember them right now.

Robb Robson is great, if i was a person in the Norwhich area I would jump straight on my mustard flavoured tractor and head up to the bookfair

You are aware that England play Paraguay that day at 2pm in the world cup?

I assume we can watch on a big screen inside the venue?

7 March, 2006 - 11:08

We are trying to sort out a screen (hopefully in a seperate room) for people who want to vent their repressed nationalism, but so far we have run into a few difficulties. We are still working on it though.
