Projectile 2007 (Anarchist Film Festival) - Got any interesting films? Want to do a talk?
Projectile 2007 will be held 18 - 20th May at the Star and Shadow Cinema, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne (provisional date for the moment, soon to be confirmed).
[The Star and Shadow is a new volunteer built and run cinema - details at http://www.starandshadow.org.uk/ Though just about up and running the Cinema are still looking for people to get involved in things like decorating - as well as in film making and putting on events.]
At Projectile 2005 and 2006 we showcased a variety of anarchist films, for many of which this was their UK premiere. We've also had a range of interesting talks and meetings, techie workshops and cabaret acts. For more details of the two previous Festivals, go to our site at http://www.projectile.org.uk/ (this also includes a 'How to Do Your own Festival' Guide). We offer free accommodation for people travelling up to Newcastle.
The Projectile Collective are keen for suggestions of new anarcho related films (or ones we have missed in the past) - as well as offers to do talks or workshops. Previous feedback has suggested we may need a better gender balance in both films and meetings in 2007 - and that we have possibly now done a fair bit to cover the big set pieces in anarchist history. However we are still keen to hear about any proposed screening or talk/workshop - whatever the subject.
If you have any suggestions for any kind of content for Projectile 2007, please get in touch at info@projectile.org.uk For any reason, if that doesn't work - we have had a couple of gremlins in the past - send me a PM instead.
[If you want to get involved in the Star and Shadow only, rather than Projectile, contact them through their website as above - not through the Projectile e-mail address]
P.S. Big thanks to Libcom for frontpaging us last year
