- library content type articles on tag indexes have big gap followed by "read more" link.

are we going to change library articles into a proper content type now? will that automatically turn current teasers into proper ones?

That's default drupal behaviour, although the big gap is my attempted fix at the image overlapping thing you mentioned before.

I think we should add intros and images - but they'll probably both have to be optional fields due to the 2,500 or so without them.

Getting old-style and new style library articles to play nice with teasers may be hard. We might have to break teaser display of all the old articles (i.e. possibly only titles will show up) to get new ones right and assume we'll eventually have the time to go through and correct. Teasers for old library articles generally look crap anyway though.

yeah old teasers don't matter so much cos they won't be on front pages of shit.

hiding the read more would be good

yeah optional fields sounds good

ok yeah remember now.

You know how to add/edit that menu?

Also we should tidy that top block up - don't like how a-z works at the moment so need to fix. Other than that I reckon library index is alright for now. Think I'll put tags block on it right side.

Yeah that's the main improvement I think. A lot of things have got easier to use.

would be good if books had an image field like library articles do

admin >> content types >> library >> manage fields >> find the photo one. That should be it. There's some options in display fields which need to be done as well, can be copied over.

on a fields note, all content types should have space for alt/title tags for images. ATM only news does i think. Can that be fixed the same way?

With library, in main body of index can we have a block which is a random tag cloud for the library? as opposed to the random tag cloud for content for the whole site in the sidebar?

I don't think we can do it with tagadelic yet - well, not without some coding anyway. But there's supposedly a 2.0 version of tagadelic with more options, and that'll probably integrate with views and stuff - which'd make it a lot easier. I'm sure if we look around on drupal.org someone's already done it.

yeah and i don't think it's worth having limited tag indexes like that... i mean like the directory, that was awful and got loads of external links to library tags, which therefore omitted loads of content.

Yeah that directory was like a whole micro-site in itself though. If we could just have a tag cloud of stuff in library that might work.

Or we could just do an authors tag cloud or something since most of that's in authors anyway.

J - the reasoning was - on the library index the only way to find content in the library is through that list of 20 authors, the new content block or using the tag cloud for content on the whole site. I thought it would have made sense to show off the rest of the library content via a random list of what else is in there. But as its not possible np at the moment.

like catch says, maybe a random author cloud'd be better?

I think we need some way of making the full author list more prominent though, as do we on history index too. maybe text in main block saying "view content by ##author" or something.

library tags cloud is beyond at the moment yeah.

Easy to set up a library a-z though (like the history bios) - and could link to that prominently. If we get views alpha pager then it'll do stuff like a b c d e for pagers instead of numbers - actually we should get that for bios etc. as well. And it'd just be an a-z list of page titles, not a whole section in itself like the authors directory (which had every author then a page with the authors articles on.).

Also now the block titles are smaller, we should try to make it more obvious that they're links somehow - maybe a dotted border-bottom or something?

That would be great.

this would be great for history and intros/glossary/reading guide too.

yeah i was thinking something like that... it should match link formatting elsewhere too.

also, tag clouds can't properly be random anyway - takes the x most popular even if the order is random.
