Yeah I think so.

Also, I've been wondering if we should think about splitting of country tags to a seperate vocabulary.

So Regions (with UK removed)
Countries
Sectors
Tags.

then countries could be a drop-down and it'd be easier to do things like views filters by country in the maps.

Or even make regions a hierarchical vocab so you'd have UK, France etc. inside Western Europe, and it might be possible with views to set things up so we don't have to tag country AND region all the time. Could still be multiple select for entry.

Thinking about it now, we could even consider look at moving sectors tags into the sectors vocab - so buses etc. are actually inside transport. Dunno how practical either of those are but thought it'd be worth bringing up now.

None of this would require re-tagging, just database jiggery and some organisation of display and stuff.

killing memory limit.
Reckon we'll have to do one of two things:

only use views maps

zoom in a lot on the world map so it loads less articles at the same time. If people zoom out it'll break though.

So prob just views maps - each region, tag filter, history news and library?

Then if performance can get fixed switch big one back on.

I've had to switch off the node map because it's killing the server loading that much information in one go. Also hid regions block so we don't get hundreds of access denieds.

I think the thing to do is sort out views for gmap and use them instead - loading less nodes at once should fix at least some of the performance issues.
