So. Would an admin or someone who contibutes content tell me how I can contribute content? I have alot of interesting red-queer (as i call it) theory i would like to contribute. Who wouldln't want to read, "Class Conflict in a Lesbian Workplace"

I have most of these articles in obscure anthologies so they are printed text. I have access to a scanner at work. But not sure what "text recognition" software I have. What do I need to do?

hey rr that's great. if you want to post anything up you need to click create content then library or history as appropriate.

You can fill in the relevant fields, add a picture and format text/links like a forum post.

good luck!

I thought this said 'adding contest'.

I am strangely disappointed. I was looking forward to some competitive maths.

I guess I was more asking for help in figuring out how to scan, a book, and have it come out as text? or is a pdf of the book page fine?

RR - you need to get Abby Finereader, ScanSoft OmniPage or similar OCR software. You can get free versions that come with scanners, or 'free' ones as well.

Plain text is much, much better than PDF images if at possible.

But text with OCR software usually needs checking for typos which come up...

It does, but the latest Abby OCR software is really good, so a quick scan should suffice, rather than an in-depth read.
