block quotes/indenting and bbcode

How can I use bbcode to indent text, for example paragraphs quoted from other articles? I tried doing it in this article using 'blockquote' and 'indent' tags, but they didn't do anything so I ended up using the normal 'quote' tag, which leaves the word 'quote' at the beginning of each paragraph thus tagged.

Ok, cool, it works with limited HTML enabled. Thanks!

Great! Don't know if you know, but if anything has footnotes you can just enter it like this:
text here <fn > footnotes text here </ fn>
With the spaces removed, that will put in an automatically numbered footnote.

Okay, I think the easiest thing to do would be to give you the ability to alter the input format of articles. This will let you use limited HTML, such as <block quote/>
I'm going to try and give you "contributor" status to see if that fixes it - if you can see a link underneath text boxes called "input format" and then choose the type "normal, some HTML allowed " that should sort it.
If you can't see that box let me know here, and we will sort you out to correct user status. In the meantime, please feel free to use that code anyway and let us know what articles it's on in the coordinating thread so we can retrospectively change it for you.
Doing a great job!
