the new post link doesn't takew you to the first new post and it looks like the bbc.

Yeah, the new post issue has been around for a while since the initial redesign

The new post links doesn't work as they should because you have all the content in the forum floated to the left, except the anchors that these links point to, and this makes them float to the top in some browsers.

For a quick fix, you can try adding
#new {float: left; clear: both;}
to your css.

Also in Firefox, the submit button in your search form is bigger than the input field, so you might want to set an absolute height on these elements.

the contrast (text/background) is sharper and that had been an issue for me with the old theme.
looks much better overall now, smashing work.

ps - i think bin and libcommunity are back in the tracker?

Nice bodycopy typeface now comrades, congrats. What about adding a slight texture to the red menu bar? Texture is soo in right now (but seriously, it might be a nice touch).

I was going to post a similar picture about how it looked identical to the BBC site!

Here's one: http://beta.natlib.govt.nz/. And my blog: http://www.garagecollective.blogspot.co.nz/. It could make the red less bright in a way, but then again, you might want it that way, so feel free to ignore this completely!

This has probably been explained somewhere but I can't post new threads either so just to clarify, is the ability for relatively new users to post new threads suspended? No worries but I was going to start a new thread and realised I couldn't either. Will keep an eye out for the developments anyway.

Just tried to post this and it triggered the spam filter so have edited it and I'll see if this goes through...

On a different note, I like the new theme - primarily because it is clean and works a lot better on tablets so when I'm using one of those I can now read the forums properly. A bit more black wouldn't go a miss but you can't have everything...

As an anti-spam measure, users can't post new threads until they've posted a small number of comments, at which point it auto-updates your account with new post permissions. I've manually bumped your account - sorry if this is a pain for people, but we were getting swamped with human spam otherwise.

Thanks Joseph, I wasn't looking to get my account bumped quickly or anything, I just wanted to check. Thanks though, much appreciated.

Cats are really hot right now... laugh out loud

But seriously, I was pretty bummed about the "Printer-friendly version" option missing on the single page articles. But when I went ahead and copied off the page anyway it pretty much looks fine, column width doesn't cause what I think the older theme tended to, with the frequent line breaks. So I guess no biggie after all.

I think the old new theme looked fine, this one's fine too ... although the bigger red band feels a little bright, maybe that's just me. The texture suggestion might be something to try, personally I would try to limit adding texture to just the banner.

They've gone now. I'm not sure if that actually happened or it was just some weird dream. The URL changed as well. eek

thanks for the suggestions. But like I said above, we never had this option on single page articles. But we would like to in future.

posts with emoticons are displaying weirdly confused by appearing in a separate line when placed mid sentence. This is in firefox 13.

That seems to be because the css the smileys use has an 18 pixel bottom margin:

.forum-post .forum-post-content img {
clear:both;
height:auto;
margin-bottom:18px;
max-width:460px;}

So on the Preview page for uploading library articles there is the option to "Preview full version". I tried this, but was re-directed to http://libcom.org/node/. At first I thought the article had been lost, but I only had to go back and the text was there. But it is quite confusing.

For some reason in Internet Explorer 9 and Google Chrome there is no paragraph break in between text with bullet points and then text with header tags:
http://libcom.org/blog/office-workers-survival-guide-20022012

also have had more e-mails to the group account pointing out the pager being broken

There is no paragraph break because you don't use paragraph tags there. You have defined lists to have no margins, and header tags to have no top margin, so then there won't be any margin there.

You are also missing ul tags around your li tags.

I know this is incredibly lazy, but would it be possible to have the page numbers and last> at the top of the comments section in blog posts as well as the bottom. It's just sometimes it takes a while for the whole page to load in order to get to the bottom to click to the last comment. I'm thinking of the Quebec blog piece which has alot of videos. I know a lot of blog posts don't have multiple comments or pages but I think this is beginning to happen more with the recent changes, which I think is good.

Hey, don't know if this has been brought up, or if anyone else is experiencing this, but I cant go to to different pages on the forums or browse through pages in the library. inside the threads it works fine, but everywhere else- no go. it just shows the most recent featured articles. I've tried srware Iron and firefox. anyone else getting this?

edit: that was happening for the last couple days and as soon as I post about it it stops...figures eek
