The site loads faster for me now. Thanks, Mike.
Ditto
Yep. much faster. Sadly, Twitter is now down. The lord giveth, and the lord taketh away.
yes, better.
Faster here as well, but still not actually fast, i.e. now takes 3 seconds when switching between sections of the site, rather than the previous 6+ seconds - still, a decent improvement, thanks
Libcom running painfully slow again.
just awful yesterday and today
yeah deff noticed this actually.
Yeah, I noticed this the other day for a couple of hours but by the time the tech people looked into it it was fine again. We're keeping an eye on it…
Still a big problem on most times I have tried to access and use the site recently - hope it can be fixed soon.
Thanks.
It's been slow all day, but at least it's loading now (it wasn't for most of the weekend).
Hi, yeah we have looked into it and we are having a problem of our server keeping running out of disk space.
Basically we need to upgrade our server, however this will entail a significant increase in our hosting fees, which we believe would exceed our income.
We are looking at options at the moment and working out what we can afford - it may be we will have to ask users to donate to us to help cover the costs.
We will try to sort this out and get back to people as soon as possible. Apologies for any inconvenience
Ok - please keep us all informed of any options for dealing with this.
still very slow but as lzbl says at least it's loading.
sorry but just awful again today. i know it's not libcom's fault but i read the whole of Capital vol. 2 on another tab while waiting to log in.

it would be worth people spending money on libcom in my opinion. it is the most useful outreach tool i can think of, in the english speaking world. any money spent improving it can only be a good thing...
I don't have much, but I would be happy to kick in a few dollars towards upgrade.......maybe do a Libcom fund drive? I mean, a lot of us use it and it's a wrothwhile project,
incredibly slow. how much do i need to donate to make you guys upgrade your server?!

Or create some kind of online account for donations. I'd kick in regularly.

Yeah y'all, slow as a bastard yesterday. What's the problem, do you know?
could not log on at all yesterday, from two different locations (so it wasn't any local server)
Same for me as for petey.
When were the db tables last defragged? (sorry, professional obsession)
again today
Steven and Admin Collective,
Re your Oct 22nd response on this - can anything be done short term or long term (how long) Can we help?
I am regularly having problems accessing the site and navigating it with periodic 'freezing' of operations.
If this is happening to others (surely it can't be just petey and me?) it will put off a lot of new interest in the site.
Taking up to 2-4 minutes to load each and so impossible to surf site. 100mb connection so guess not my side.
Same here; excruciatingly slow.
Really sorry guys, hopefully should be a bit better now. Sorting out our server is number 1 on our priority list this year, hopefully should be able to do it reasonably soon

I made a couple of changes yesterday which might improve this. If you don't notice a change please update the thread since while I definitely fixed two issues they might not be the ones causing things to lock up.
