Old discussions appearing as "new"
Hi... for the past few days, some old discussions have appeared in my "track" box with the "new" tag. But there's no new discusssion. What's up?
I don't know - haven't come across this myself yet. If you could link to a specific discussion it's happened with please post it up.
Same here, all the first page and a half on my account tracker are showing as new but aren't new. One of them was "red army revol" funny to look at again but a pain when I'm trying to track more recent stuff I've posted to. Been happening since the most recent change to the layout if that helps.
Actually had a look at this again - its not until the 12th page of threads listed when I track my account that I actually get to see threads I've actually posted on in the last few weeks - the rest are fuckin ancient. Immediately after these 12 pages there are the threads I've most recently posted to.
Hmm, odd.
Well for now, try this.
You have two trackers
Here's Boul's: http://libcom.org/user/757/track http://libcom.org/tracker/757
The /tracker/757 works fine for me, so if you use that, you'll be fine. I did change a bunch of stuff with the tracker, would be a shame to put it back but will have a think.
Could it be to do with date formats?
Well they both get information from exactly the same place, although at the moment two different modules are using that information slightly differently. Essentially, I can 'fix' this but putting libcommunity back in the tracker I think.
I wouldn't mind having libcommunity in the tracker. I prefer it that way.
Alright then it should be back now. Still issues though, and not what I thought.
I don't know if this is related, but now, when I look at my recent posts, I only get threads initiated by me, rather than all those I posted to. Worked fine just yesterday, before I shut down the computer.
I now have only one page in "My Recent Posts" and they're all discussions from months ago
OK I've done something I was thinking about for a while anyway, it'll be a little different though.
Now, you should have a tab for "my recent posts" available, and you'll also have a link for tracker/my - with a bit of luck, this'll also fix the 'fake new posts' issue.
However, for now at least, you'll no longer have a tracker at user/tracker/[uid]. This is all going to change drastically when we upgrade to Drupal 6, so hopefully this'll work fine for now. Let me know if it doesn't!
Aye, that seems to have sorted it. Cheers
Cool. I also stuck tracker/my in the drop down menu to make up for the annoyance.
Working fine in my profile. Unfortunately, it seems the ability to track other users had died. I use this quite a bit myself.

If you want to get around this, you can put the users uid after tracker - the uid you can get from the private message link.
so yours would be /tracker/1317
The links will come back one way or another, but I'm not sure how quickly.
yeah, my track is gone. I found it useful, easy to go right to something I left off on.
syndicalist - check the menu.

You might not want to admit that cyber-stalking isn't as well-respected as you might think.
I only stalk you jef. You're the only one that's worth it.

Finally I get some validation from these boards!
Sorry, where might the menu be?
the 'explore' drop-down menu at the top of the page
Here, a bunch of discussions appear as new even though they're old, and, moreover, have no new messages in them, like "What History are you reading" and "Animal Liberation as a tool against Capitalism" (FFS!!!).
I am shocked and appalled.
Is this the main tracker or your one? edit: or the forum one?
As you should be!!!!!1111oneoneon
Both on /tracker/my and on /tracker/forums.
