targeted union rep

I am a union rep that has been targeted for termination. I have not yet been suspended but it is coming soon Im told. I consulted a lawyer and my union is waiting for me to be charged. I am the president at my local. All presidents before me except for one has been terminated and/ or targeted for severe persecution. My fear is when I am gone that the union is finished where I work. Management has instilled the fear of unionism in my facility. The members are waiting and watching to see what unfolds. The persecution is alot to handle at times. I am trying to be strong.

Instead on waiting to be charged and for your lawyer and other union officials to take action, I do hope you are being proactive about the situation and explaining to your co-workers the gains that have been made through the union and the need to stand together in light of any disciplinary action against any member, and develop a plan for dealing with these types of situations -- for any member.

Doesn't that mean that the union (and i mean the members in the place you work) rely to heavily on you, and it's strength comes from you and not their sense of union?
