CPE blog - tidying it up
right it's nearly all there now, like 4-5 more articles, then things like:
done, not done
- fixed pages
- glossary
- links
then to do:
- fix images,
- add images into news articles on earlier stories
- fix inter-article links
- add in users comments
- set up some indexy-thing which links to all stuff tagged with CPE AND one other thing, like:
-- accounts, analysis, etc.
-- paris, rennes, etc.
-- strikes, blockades, occupations, riots, demos etc.
-- schools, universities, etc.
-- villepin, chirac, sarkozy
make correspondent pages (using author/people/groups?) then ask corrs for bit of extra info/picture to put in, bring some life to the accounts
make day-by-day indexes maybe? or a timeline with shitloads of links to all other content?
i'm just chucking in fixed pages/linked as news articles:
http://libcom.org/news/cpe-coverage-in-other-languages-12032006
http://libcom.org/news/about-the-cpe-france-blog-13032006
shoud be fine - can sort display later.
We can make a cpe menu, then set that only to display on either /blog/cpe - or possibly anything tagged with cpe.
Right here's list of all CPE discussion on our forums, to put in somewhere...

out of interest, next time something like the CPE happens, what's the plan? just set up an index page with relevant feeds, graphics and an intro blurb, and with a simple url url?
Don't think we've worked it out yet!
It's easy to set up a custom page for one tag - with it's own blocks and stuff, so we'd probably do it like that.
ok cool, obviously the blog having a 'special' look/feel was a good thing, but it'll be better still if in future it is integrated into the rest of the site without just being part of the newswire. just wondered if you'd thought about it, doesn't sound like it will be a problem and (un)fortunately, mass struggles like that don't come along too often
A bit later on we should be able to customise the themes of different sections, so it'd be possible to give it it's own look relatively easily, without the need for it being a completely seperate thing in its own right.
cool, i do worry about myself slightly when stuff like switchable themes gets me excited
well it's done and now here
http://libcom.org/blog/cpe-france
just needs some tidyin up i guess now
we can retrospectively rename it the CPE France blog.
cool, nice one moving it over (and everything else you've moved over). We should change that to a view - then we can easily do custom header/logo etc.
bump to remind, also looks like search engines have got it. These stories had no reads for ages, now most have at least 40-60, a few on over 100, and at least on on nearly 1,000

All blog is now in v4, except for a couple of fixed pages:
- About this blog
- Coverage in other languages
- France: A history of revolt
- Glossary of the Unrest
Not sure what to do with them... could just chuck them in news like everything else and link to from some box on blog index?
or could add glossary terms into normal glossary (maybe with an article with cpe-specific links tho?)
so, shall we call it /blog/cpe, or /blog/cpe-france. Latter is messier but better for google, i dunno the best way to go really...
