Glossary
catch am i right in thinking that those glossary modules you linked to before automatically link words to their glossary entries? cos i don't think we want this really, cos we might want to link to that tag or something from the text. also of course there'd be shitloads of links.
should i just carry on glossary as a book?
book one is organised alphabetically:
http://libcom.org/notes/glossary
what else does the auto-module do then?
oh right, i thought u would have to do that by hand.
john do u not use google for questions like this? or is ur excuse being at work
http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=drupal+glossary
first result is
http://drupal.org/project/glossary
The glossary module scans posts for glossary terms (including synonyms). The glossary indicator is inserted after every found term, or the term itself is turned into an indicator* depending on the site settings. By hovering over the indicator, users may learn the definition of that term. Clicking the indicator leads the user to that term presented within the whole glossary or directly to the detailed description of the term, if available.
There may be other modules.
hmm that module sounds very good. esp if the indicator is after the term, so we can still have the terms as a link. though I worry there might be too many indicators everywhere?
tho then again if we had it turn the words into a link, we could maybe use glossary module as references for the whole site. don't bother with inter-linking articles, just put key links to things along with descriptions in glossary.
like,
Errico Malatesta - Italian anarchist, 1860-1936
See biog here
Errico malatesta archive here
Span civil war - conflict in spain, revolution 1936-9,
links blah blah.
but again maybe that's a bit much?
nah that sounds pretty cool if we could get round to it.
Would have to consider the resources that module would use.
hmmm, cos if we had stuff like "class" in there it would have links absolutely everywhere. which is cool cos it'd be like wikipedia, but hmmm
could we say test it out in just one section - say thought?
we could also use it as a way of doing "stubs" where we know roughly what something is but don't have an article yet, then when we do find something we won't have to update dozens of other articles to add links. e.g. peter kropotkin - russian anarchist geographer, 1830-1922 or whatever.

Hmm would be good to have it organise things alphabeticaly etc.
Maybe could switch the linking thing off?
