Pensions articles
I've been putting them up in news (sadly not with the freedom login, tho i tried, we've upgraded and got probs with articles being blocked as spam, should sort soon tho).
just need to know a couple of things - namely, the dates of these articles:
- Back down boys - the public sector pensions deal where workers got divided
- A fraught old age - turner report piece
- Pension scraps - dave's bit about 85 rule
many thanks guys!
cool and the gang
There's a new pensions article waiting to be written.
See http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4865638.stm 'Contributions to MPs' pensions from the public purse will go up from 24% to 26.8% from April to cover an increase in the fund's deficit.'
An MP's pension, after 26 years service, is already an indexed linked £38,000 per year.
Nice spot creepy. Hmm off a google it's gone into the telegraph and mail too, so it'll be mainstream elsewhere pretty quickly. A good analytical piece for page six would work though, bringing up the wider issues, would you be up for doing something on it?
Yes, I'll give it a whirl. How soon do you want it?
End of tomorrow's probly latest we can do, page designer's got a lot on and needs stuff in as soon as. Cheers creepy!

Back down boys was 28th October,
Fraught Old Age was 26th November,
Pensions scraps was 3rd December
