A mixed bag - some very good results (BNP in Barking and Dagenham) some sensational (the England First Party results in lancashire) some actually indicating a step backwards (the BNP in Oldham and possibly Sunderland) Had the BNP stood a full slate in Barking, could they have won the council? 11 of their 13 candidates were elected.

It is also worth remembering that in areas where the majority of the electorate is non-white (such as Tower Hamlets) the BNP vote can also be considered to a lot higher if read as a percentage of the white vote.

even in fallowfield, the student area of Manchester Joe Finnon (the "I infiltrated Stop the war and unite against fascism and did loads of free work for them muhahahhahahaa" - fame) he scored 140 votes, 4.8%, which can't be dismissed.

The miles platting result in manchester was to expected.

Agree on Finnon - given the percentage of people in that area that would not be registered to vote (students, freshly arrived migrants) or would be from ethnic groups, nearly 5% is probably a reasonable chunk of vote.

he usually scores only couple votes in the student elections - mostly from a) people who are his mates (not many), b) people who do not know who he is (he never is outspoken about his nationalist agenda, but talks about vague freedom of speech etc agendas) and c) people who write down the wrong number.

Dozen votes is good result for him.

Thats why i was a bit suprised about how many he got in fallowfield...

The fash did worringly well in one Sheffield ward Shiregreen and brightside where Christopher Neil Hartigan came second with 1015 868 votes behind the Labour candidate. They gained 2 more seats in Kirklees but lost 1 in Calderdale and 1 in Bradford.
