Marvin Gaye - Whats going on
Mingus - Black saint and the sinner lady
Stooges - Funhouse
Springsteen - E Street band Live 75-83
Glenn Gould - Goldberg Variations

I think this proves that I have better taste and therefore am a better more well-rounded individual that youz.

Also if you did this with individual good music tracks you could start a long running radio show with interviews and things. Dunno what you'd call it tho.

I would rather die than only listen to 5 albums. This is my idea of communist hell, I want infinite choice! But if I had to,

Any broad selection of the works of Arvo Pärt,
Ulver - Shadows of The Sun
Sunn0))) - Flight of The Behemoth
Kayo Dot - Choirs of the Eye
Darkthrone - A Blaze in The Northern Sky

if you ask me in 6 months time (even in a couple of days time) this would change though.

Miles Davis - Complete Live at the Plugged Nickel

AMM - Newfoundland

Public Image Limited - Second Edition/Metal Box

Peter Brötzmann - The Chicago Octet/Tentet

Wow this is difficult, I was tempted by Never Mind The Bollocks but I think there's only a couple or so good songs on it. Anyway...

1. The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses
2. Root Down - Jimmy Smith
3. It's Great When You're Straight... Yeah - Black Grape
4. The Song Remains the Same - Led Zeppelin (or BBC Sessions, tough pick)
5. Crimson Tonight - The Stone Roses (EP of some live songs from Second Coming cos I like live albums)

Sry no anarychies, ready for abuse... ; )

How can you say Never Mind The Bollocks only has a couple of good songs on it?Still you redeem yourself with your choices of Black Grape and Stone Roses-Fantastic albums especially Black Grape.

It's all pretty subjective init, I have the same opinion about Clash albums otherwise I would have one of those in my top 5. I would probably have Gang Of Four but too miserable to be included in the list of only records you could have. Though I have thought that I might change one of my selections for The White Room - KLF. Glad to be redeemed. grin Though maybe the suggestion of KLF has landed me right back in it!

KLF are class,I've got it and while the eponymous Clash lp is a classic I'm not fussed on their later stuff. Not keen on Gang of Four but Joy Division-Heart and Soul is excellent. You could change your list all the time but I suppose you just go with the flow or it would go on forever!

J Dilla - Donuts
Wu-Tang Clan - 36 Chambers
Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx
GZA - Liquid Swords
Nas - Illmatic

altho with three wu-tang releases on there I'd be tempted to change one of 'em to Converge - Jane Doe. For a bit of variety on the desert island...

Symarip - Skinhead Moonstomp
Spiritualized - Ladies and Gentlemen We are Floating in Outer Space
The Smiths - The Queen is Dead
The Pogues - Red Roses for Me
Mogwai - Mogwai Young Team

Obviously only a bellend has exactly 5 favorite albums, so these are just off the top of my head...

My faves.
Howlin Wolf Memphis Sessions
Bob Dylan Highway 61 Revisited
Miles Davis In a Silent Way
Patti Smith Group Horses
Jimi Hendrix Electric Ladyland
Any decent Hank Williams anthology. Not Junior or number 3. The original.

So it's six.
