Left Communism in Greece?
Hello,
I've been wondering if there were any left communist groups in Greece. I've heard of a group called TPTG (I think it is something like The Children of the Gallery) whom we sent a mail but unfortunately did not receive a reply. Does anyone know if they are still active? I heard that Aghis Stinas was quite active, are there any groups claiming his legacy? I heard that Munis' FOR also existed in Greece, are there remnants of this group?
Well, as a greek, let me tell you a few things. The group you 're talking about are quite active still, and their magazine (which a best translation let me say could be something like "Kids in the back seats" -it's taken from a french movie a think...), although not very often published (about every half a year) it's extremely interesting. At this time there are more people involved with them and they having something like a publishing group called the red thread (to kokino nima). Aghis Stinas was very active in the greek revolutionary movement during the 20's and 30's. During the WWII, he was in a small group which tried to keep a deafetistic position. But in the hard years of the German occupation and in the years after that during the greek civil war, this group was been chased by the Nazi's authorities, by the greek national government and by the greek communist party's secret police. After that there weren't many things left. Stinas actually retired and stayed in the background. (Let me say that communists were still chased, imprisoned and exiled until 1974). Nowadays Stinas' legacy it's not claimed by many other than small groups like TPGT, Blaumachen and ours (and maybe some single persons). Here the leninist antiimperialistic view of things against the USA's imperialism is very strong almost from black block anarchists, to so called autonomists... I hope I was helpful. If someone wants some more infos I ll be glad to help.
is there maybe a left communist tendency in the anti-authoritarian movement? i was talking to one chap from the AA in thessaloniki who considered himself a left commie. nice chap. but then i just saw on the crimethinc thread that the same group have links to a crimethinc group in bulgaria which is strange.
