I said some art could be considered shite, not the idea of art itself obviously!

People study lots of things, that doesn't make it worthwhile as a result. But then like art, it's all subjective. That's why you can certainly think Bach is grand, but you can't prove it.

No way, school is way better than work for the following reasons:

a) all your friends are there.. at work you just get some guy who's 'alright' and really you only talk about work.. at school you talk about all kinds of stuff like 6th form girls you want to have sex with (and never will or even would because the thought of it frightens your penis into your stomach)..
b) you can piss around way more at school and its way funnier than anything you can do at work (basically go on the internet or have a conversation with someone you don't actually like..)
c) you get regular breaks.. two hours in the morning, break time.. two more, lunch time.. one more, and you go home.. at 3:30pm!
finally d) you know it will end one day.. with work it literally is 'revolution or death (or marrying a millionaire)'.. I think that's the thing that sucks most about work (and probably why so many of us keep plugging away at this communism business..)

:)

Pretty much this. Work is fucking shit, much shitter than school/college/uni.

Of course, but such an opinion needs to be backed up. This isn't an attack on anyone on here. After years spent on art forums and discussing art with people, you process a lot of crap.

True, but I do think art is worthwhile, even vital in society. Due to the subject art generally deals with (the human condition), it tells us important things about ourselves that help us understand ourselves and others better.

To a point. For example, if someone says Beyonce is a better artist than Beethoven, that person is wrong. They can enjoy Beyonce more certainly, but an objective statement such as that is wrong, and I doubt you could find anyone who would make such a statement and attempt to back it up with logic.

If you know music theory, you certainly can. I don't know enough about music theory, but I know people that do, and they can go on for hours telling you exactly why Bach is one of the greatest musicians to have ever lived.

PS: To answer the thread question, school. I despised forced education, but after jobs in fast food, a factory, and an office, those awful days don't seem as bad. Still bad, but nothing on waking up at four in the morning to pack boxes for eight hours.

each have plusses/minuses in relation to the other. Kind of depends what your experiene was really

School -

+ you are with your mates all the time
+ you can get away with more shit at school than work
+ less hours
+ as shit as school is, learning stuff> doing menial shit at work
- you dont get paid
- you have to be there
- bullying is worse at school than work
- you have less freddoms

Work -
+ you get paid
+ you get some choice where you work
+ no homework
+ easier to get revolutionary shit done
- less crazy shit happens
- people are more 'drained' at work (this might be an age thing)
- you are not with 100s of people more or less your age, especially in relation to partners
- more of a depressing environment IMO

With some though I've decided primary School>>>> the rest

- You have no responsibilities

- even the teachers are nice

- you do shit like colouring in and painting

- everyone in the class is friends

- going days without showers/wearing shocking clothes is no big deal

- worries such as getting with girls or your future don't even register

- Playtime was ownage

You went to a better primary school than me then!

My teachers were awful. Not just awful. One of them turned out to be a paedophile, but it was swept under the carpet in typical Catholic fashion.

The bullying that took place in primary school was horrifying too. Getting attacked by an Irish traveller who didn't care about surname comradery was a memorable moment. The guy wasn't a fan of hygeine either.

Moral of the story: don't send your kids to a Catholic school.

I can trump most people my age talking about the crazy shit that went on in their school when I can say that my maths teacher committed suicide and an english teacher was found to be a paedophile, with discovered child porn on his computer, paedos at catholic schools are normal, so I win smile
