I went onto twitter for the first time in awhile to discover a little surprise from my past. In the feed for tweets from people a follow there was one from a Jason Unruhe or Maoistrebelnews2 as his more widely known. This confused me since I was sure I broke all contact with the embarrassing sod years ago but then I don't really use twitter that much. Can't say he really changed much but one tweet that caught my eye before mashing the unfollow button was this.

This really intrigued me, anyone know what he means by "attack"? He's had pretty thin skin and a bizarre habit of imagining his own memory so this could be pretty dull but it could be good.

I typed libcom MRN into google and found a thread titled worse then Maoist Rebel News?

And another thread that showed me that Red Penguin. Oh but I did find this gem

Well given his use of dramatic language I can't say I was expecting a plan for Canadian users to steal his car but to hold a grudge for two years over being made fun of.... that's just sad.

I was expecting at least a funny picture or a mean spirited vid remix.

The guy is just sad. No Marxist-Leninist-Maoist i know takes him seriously at all and his crackpot ideas certainly does not represent even a minority of Maoists. He is a 3rd world Maoist after all which is basically a internet phenomena promoted by suburbanite neckbeards who have never had any contact with the working class in their lives. Really how the hell is some Central Canadian suburbanite yuppie going to know anything at all about the working class besides what he has read in books?

He is a joke and is more to be pitied then laughed at.

FYI being taken seriously by Maoists isn't exactly a badge of honour on libcom.

Yes there is a working class in central Canada hell i was a part of the working class when i lived up there and was in a union. I didn't live in suburbia thank fuck but as it is cheaper to live outside places like Montreal and Toronto some people have no choice. I thankfully managed to get a cheap as fuck apartment that was still technically in the city. That was not the point i was making.

The point i was making was that MRN is a 3rd world Maoist which is certainly not something that is going to endear you to the working class in any part of Canada or America for that matter. He seems to be your typical yuppie suburbanite who's only interaction with the working class is walking past a construction site.

And yes i know Marxist-Leninist-Maoists are not exactly loved on this site but when Maoists rag on MRN for not knowing anything about M-L-M theory that is pretty damn sad.

20-25 years ago, before the internet existed, these people (regardless if they identified themselves as maoist, trotskyist, anarchist, radical human rights campaigner, marxists-hedonists, etc.) were a local phenomenon, producing (sometimes handwritten) leaflets which you were eager to get at a demo for having a good laugh, you probably knew via friends of one or two similar figures in other places ... with blogs, youtube, etc., these guys (always male, or?) like the Communist International/Stalinists-Hoxhaists, the International Anarchist Tribunal or MRN are becoming famous on a world scale ... should LibCom(munity) try to unite these solitary vanguards?

Well bringing this up got me curious so I checked out his youtube channel, thanks to a youtube update clicking on the channel un-subscribed greets me with an auto playing trailer of him and archival footage of Mao and Stalin to cult of personality showing he doesn't really get that song.

Anyway of the recent videos one caught my eye, "I was right about Hugo Schwyzer " a 3:50 about another grudge MRN has held for two years. TL;DR MRN criticises guy, guy threatens to sue him, nothing happens for two years. Hugo admits some of what MRN said was true after having a mental breakdown, MRN makes video about it being very pleased with himself, spends most of the video complaining about all the nasty comments he received two years ago.

So apparently this holding grudges for minor slights thing is a general pattern of behaviour for him.
