I'm just wondering if anybody knows of any good books on the history of the anarchist movement in Japan? I'm off to live there for a while soon and want some background. I've read 'The Anarchist movement in Japan' by John Crump but need something a bit more detailed. Any suggestions?

I'd be interested in acquiring a decent life summary of the bearded revolutionary. I've read a few brief biographical texts on Bakunin, usually prior to his main works. After having read into his theory I'd prefer to know a bit more about the man himself, though I've heard he led quite a dodgy life. Anyway, I'd be grateful if anyone could recommend something.

I'm wondering if anyone has read Broue's history of the German revolutionary wave and what their opinion of it is. I know he was a trot but is it still worth reading? seems to be the most readily available history in English??

couldn't find this anywhere else on libcom, so i thought i'd start a thread. i need some pointers to find out about the dark side of this 'Great Leader'. i already know about his opposition to Indian self-rule, but that's about it. i've heard that he was a really nasty bugger, but can't find any sources on teh interwebs.

I was wondering if there existed a rough estimate of how many anarchists have been murdered by Marxists in Russia, Spain, China, etc. Somebody recently pointed out to me that Marxists had probably murdered more anarchists than even fascist regimes had.

I was thinking of writing a pamphlet or something commemorating working-class militants murdered by Marxism.
