Hello Comrades!
Could anyone recommend some good Left Communist/Council Communist books to read with particular reference to Otto Ruhle,Anton Pannekoek and General history. I only have a tertiary and basic knowledge of said matter and would appreciate your help if possible-thanks!

The ICC's book on the history of the Dutch/German communist Left is very good and certainly covers this period. Amazon has reduced the price of all of our books recently, so grab yourselves a bargain or two!

Check out Paul Mattick's "Anti-Bolshevik Communism", which includes texts on Ruhle, Pannekoek and Korsch.

'Workers Councils' is the one you want from Anton Pannekoek

Kurasje is very good. Some of those texts (and others) are also here: http://libcom.org/tags/council-communism

Thank you comrades! I have Pannekoeks Workers Councils and Ruhle's Struggle Against Fascism and would welcome expanded texts in book form by these and other authors. Thanks again to the above contributors-they helped immensely.

Specifically on Pannekoek's thought (with many excerpts from his texts) from around 1900 through to the 1950s, there is Serge Bricianier's "Pannekoek and the Workers' Councils".

'Pannekoek & Gorter's Marxism', ed. D. A. Smart - is that any good?

As I remeber it is an introduction with three texts from Pannekoek and two from Gorter, four of which are online else where.

Yes, it is good. It also contains a fairly long, informative introduction by D.A. Smart, which had a positive influence on my understanding and development.
