I'm surprised no one has started a thread on what they thought about this year's bookfair. So, here it is.

I was stuck behind the Black Flag stall, trying to sell the new issue (with some success). So the only meeting I attended was my own one on Kropotkin's Mutual Aid. How did the others go? In particular, I was wondering if anyone can shed any light on Chris Knight's meeting, as described here. It sounds, well, strange...

The apology about the meeting written in the link above, by a former member of the Radical Anthropology Group who has resigned from the group as a result of Chris Knight's recent evolution, pretty much sums up how I felt about this meeting. I had gone having written a contribution on Knight's ideas for the ICC website and wanted to raise a number of questions, but there was no chance whatever for any serious discussion. It was a huge relief when it was all over.

I' ve been to several Anarchist Bookfairs over the years and think it would be better if the non class liberal/veggie groups departed and the true Anarchist movement could be seen. Its depressing to see something that resembles a punk/ALF/liberal fest. rather than a once glorious movement that had real working class respect and not a modern day farce!
