crime and punishment in an anarchist society
I've read a lot in anarchist publications about social and community pressure being used to make wrongdoers see the error of their ways but although it seems that many types of crime born out of social deprivation and inequality will fall, there will still be people who rape, murder, vandalise etc, etc, etc. My question is (unless you think that community and social pressure can solve every ill) would there be some sort of organisation to detect and deal with crime, but without the repressive nature of the current police? Also, although prison does not work in many circumstances, surely there would still need to be some form of it in order to deal with such wrongdoers? It almost seems from reading some anarchist books etc that there is this vision that crime will almost disappear. I do believe and hope that people can work together but do not believe that everyone's nature is saintly.

I thought loads of coppers were detecting anarchists already
yeah when i was younger i wanted to do forensics, in a post revolutionary society i'd become a forensic detective.
thats unless of course forensics are authoritarian.
actually it will be amazing being a peeler after the revolution, we will have canteen culture (basically enrager!) and we can go around beating up hippies, primmos, punks and the shit cast off from the old ruling classes. Oh and we can still pick on catholics!
you'd have to get out of bed first
