Who was John Neale? Cockney Socialist, KIA - Easter 1916 Rising.

I'm trying to find more info on an individual called John Neale.

Described as ''London Irishman'' and an ''English-Irishman with a cockney accent''[1], Neale was a ''young cockney member of the Irish Citizen Army''[2][3].

He acted as a lookout on top of the Metropole Hotel during the armed uprising against British rule in Dublin, Easter Week, 1916.

Anarchist Summer Camp 2008

Posting on behalf of somebody else - I am obviously way too cynical to organise something like this. Looks great though!

Hi all, the Anarchist Summer Camp takes place near Coolgreany, Co. Wexford this July 11th, 12th and 13th. The camp will be on a small holding the following should be noted.

A certain Michael Forbes, who happens to be the Irish ambassador to Israel, is going to lecture:

Political Film Society

I notice that the Unemployed Resource centre has played host to a screen of Ken Loach's Bread and Roses. I wonder is there any scope for establishing a political film society that could hold screenings regularly?

All welcome

Sick of lying politicians, greedy landlords and high prices and the blight of sectarianism, constantly being told tighten our belts while the rich get richer? The war maybe over, but there has been no ceasefire in the class war against us in the so-called ‘new era’ through forthcoming water charges, cut-backs and ‘privatisation’ of our public services...

Quote:
The Communications Workers' Union (CWU) in the Republic of Ireland is organising an email campaign to highlight the fact that British Telecom is discriminating against its own staff because they are Irish by refusing them the right to collective bargaining which their staff in Northern Ireland enjoy.

SWP member sends in cops to arrest protesting Belfast airport workers?

Quote:
"The airport workers have now come down from the canopy at the front of Transport House and are continuing their protest and hunger strike at the front gates of the building. They were forced to come down from the canopy because the PSNI threatened to arrest them. Jimmy Kelly UNITE T&G Regional Secretary and SWP member called in the PSNI to arrest the airport workers."
