Holy fuck - and the May Day Ball to celebrate May Day and 100 years of international women's day at Stormont at £50 a ticket! While any dissenting or critical voices are squeezed out due to the 'Farmers market' meaning no stalls will be available for the first time since the move to St. Georges market. Not having any stalls seems to be making a lot of sense for NIC-ICTU.

Organise! will be marching as part of the WWPC anti-water charges contingent on the march. Join the WWPC/anti-water charges section on the march and prepare to stick it to Jimmy Kelly.

jesus

Thats the spirit boul...
How about an anarchist/libertarian block within the wwpc contingent, rather than just making up the numbers to boost the SP's profile.....

15 April, 2008 - 22:10

perhaps something similar a 'few years' back when Organise were involved in pickets in the firefighters dispute of 'kick Jimmy kelly and co off the march'..

So I don't think we were planning on just making up numbers, we will have our own banners and red and black flags along. We'll be part of the We Won't Pay Campaign section because we are part of the WWPC. We are part of this campaign because it is based on mass non-payment. Not that its all been smooth sailing with the SP but they are not the worst people in the world to work with and they do actually give a shit about the issue as an issue.

Yep, an anarchist contingent would be more than welcome on the march and yes Jimmy Kelly, the 'leadership' of Unite's T&G section and the SWP, deserve to come in for some shit.

I'm touched by this ringing endorsement.

Bobby: Why not bring your WSM banner / flags / whatever on the WWPC contingent? Nobody is going to mistake you for an SP member if you are carrying your own banners.

16 April, 2008 - 21:13

I didnt say WSM will not be participating in the wwpc/sp contingent did I...

No, and no-one claimed that you said that either comrade. You made a sarcy comment about making up numbers for the SP. As if anyone had any intention of not bringing our own banners on the May Day march for the first time in, well, probably since we started going on it donkeys years ago. Especially not now that we have reappropriated our May Day banner from ye mate wink

16 April, 2008 - 22:43

About time too..

16 April, 2008 - 22:48

Seriously, we should try to make it uncomfortable for Jimmy Kelly. Its not like we'll have a stall to worry about.

16 April, 2008 - 22:49

if that's a serious idea maybe edit the post...?

16 April, 2008 - 22:55

black bloc exactly I agree notch, throw a grenade...

16 April, 2008 - 22:57

we might as well just take them all out instead of just the one eh..

16 April, 2008 - 23:00

oh dear just remembered another bastard will take their place.. roll eyes

Erm, I was thinking more of heckling him or something.

17 April, 2008 - 19:55

joke

17 April, 2008 - 20:39

aye now he says it's a joke wink

6 May, 2008 - 16:52

So, what happened on Belfast Mayday then?

6 May, 2008 - 22:36

Me and Bobby made arses of ourselves by heckling Jimmy Kelly, because we didn't know the sacked airport workers had agreed not to heckle during new negotiations. I'm hoping we have been dismissed as mad uncontrollable anarchists and haven't fucked it up for them. But then the union hasn't needed any excuses in the past to fuck them over.

6 May, 2008 - 23:19

We were able to restrain ourselves quite well in respect, I think the only person who looked like an arse was the scab himself... smile

"But then the union hasn't needed any excuses in the past to fuck them over"

exactly mark

Nothing has been fucked up as far as I am aware. The no heckling deal was with the SP so a couple of anarchists heckling isn't going to have affected anything. SP are still covered as it didn't include any of their members.
