Day of Action November 9th in Rossport.
What is attitude of Organise and WSM to Shellto Sea campaign?
We (WSM) are very involved in the campaign and are organising to build for the upcoming Day of Action. One of our members wrote a long article on the issue here: http://www.wsm.ie/story/1773 and if you go to wsm.ie/resources you can find more. also, you will see many articles on the various protests, occupations etc on our newswire.
I do not know what the position of Organise! is to the campaign.
Good effort in Rossport last Friday. However was it a planned trespass or just something that happened on the day due to boredom?
The sit down was ok but participation seemed to be halfhearted to me. Then the next thing I knew I turned around and people were scaling the fence and gate. It was all good with the media excited and activist engaged, but was this thought out or just a few people getting a notion to set things in motion?
I welcome the trespass and the media attention brought, I don't think they'd have covered sit down in Rossport as work goes on in the site. What next if we do this again will it make at difference or do we need to escalate it somehow? I thought the turnout was ok but we could do a lot better.
Do anarchists have a particular strategy for this campaign or does anyone?
Anyhow well done to all concerned.
