I think several people from Edmonton will be coming. At least one car full (maybe two) plus at least one person flying out.
General Assembly
fuck yeah! i'm excited to meet y'all british wobs. I'll be there. I've decided to piss off my FW who think we should dress up in suits to make the union seem classy/professional or whatever, i"m going to dress up. I've got a basketball uniform with daisy dukes, and maybe some full track suits. i'm coming to GA straight balla'
I will definitely go if I get the women's funding and I may go otherwise. One guy from our branch is definitely going, on his way to visit his mom out west, and another might go as well although I'm not sure.
I start school the following Tuesday so it's a bit tight for me but I am a superkeener when it comes to the IWW.
It would also mean giving up my previous boycott of the USA. That's how much I'd like to meet y'all and similar folks.
If I do go I will probably wear my black hoodie with an IWW patch on it. Maybe it'll have more patches by then, who knows.
I will participate in the drinking although I have to say I probably won't win any macho contest for quantity. I will just get friendly and happy and loud(er) and maybe sleepy.
I may hop a train or coordinate some transport with the Preacher (not Greyhound!), but I've got a busy schedule that month, which plans to bring me to Portland and near Philly as well. We shall see...not sure what proposals there will be. But if FW KM is coming from here, I will go just to bust his balls.
So there is a FW Speed? We have a FW Trautman.
P.S. I think I'll go just to harass the BIROC peeps.
Oh sorry Rogue I meant that the cost of bringing him along, and the fact a lot us folks are driving is going to make it pretty tricky for him. It's not just the childcare, travel is pretty pricey too.
Well that and keeping the kid occupied. In my experience the real issue is making sure the child's occupied and won't go bored and hyper on you. Then its great fun!

I hear you. I drove twenty hours to the Social Forum with a four year old. We had to do quite a bit of planning to make that work. Whew!

Christ on a pogo stick, that's pretty bad. I imagine you had several tote bags full of books, toys etc. Carrying that shit around is always a pain in the ass.
I'm going as the Leicester delegate, and I'm such a keener that I've already registered.
Nate, how many people are going from Minneapolis? Is it possible to get in on a ride to Chicago from Minne if folks are driving down?
And yes, I think that the libcom drink fest is on.
I don't know how many folk are going but I think people are renting a van so a ride should be fine. Email me and I'll pass it on to our branch email list. I think I'm going down by bus a week or so early, I have family in the area that I want to see. If you can stay longer (this goes for anyone) and want to come up to the Twin Cities I'm sure we could find housing and stuff, we love out of town guests.

Who is going out of the wobs on here? Anyone bring folk/going with folk?
I'm going. I'm sure others from my branch will be but I don't know who. I still need to register.
