Boy oh boy, anarcho-nutjob, Jon Bekken, is taking his authoritarian temper tantrums to a new low this week as he threatens a new round of expulsions of IWW officers.

What for? Enforcing e-mail list decorum rules!

Shouting censorship and accusing the new Executive Board Chair of subverting union democracy, Bekken is once again forgetting his own history. Never once did he stand up and protect democracy when the internal bulletin of the IWW stopped being published as mandated by the constitution in years 2004-05. Nor did he complain when financial reports ceased to be prepared and made available during 2005. Both are important pillars of the union's democratic traditions, but ones that can be evidently ignored by Bekken.

that seems an interesting place to lay into the wobs from, if they are similar to the SPGB.

The SPGB had a little adventure in the BIROC a few years back, IIRC.

Tell me more, but this time use a bit more evidence than your bullshit accusations of harboring peodophiles.

I was on the IWW G. Exec. Board at the time and visited the BIROC meeting.

Brill does this really need to get brought up here?

Members of the executive board that i've talked to have said that it's more complicated than you portrayed it.

Why are you sharing this? Transparency? or to score points in your continuing feud with Jon? Still either way it's a pretty crap way for Jon to start the year.

Transparency.

There's no fued. Bekken throws temper tantrums to get his way. I've been in long enough to give a historical context of his hypocracy.

Like causiing a shit-storm in the IWW so GHQ can move back to Phily next year. That's what I think the complexity is. We already know their candidate.

I do not agree this is helpful.

Yeah, while I certainly have my thoughts on Bekken, this really seems like something that should be addressed internally first. Fuck, I'm just waiting for Revol to find his way to this thread...

but discussing it in generalities only teases the rest of us

hehe, yeah, it's like "well, you won't find out unless you join". it's a marketing ploy.

Bekken is naive and actually thinks that charges are a neutral and impersonal method to challenge the conduct of officers and other members.

Brill is paranoid and thinks that there is some sort of conspiratorial group controlling the union.

Brill also likes to smear shit on our laundry before he airs it in public.

I don't think he is naive. If anything, past behaviors indicate he is cunningly aware of his advantages in using/ threatening to use the charges system.

Basically, I think he is a bully.

Oliver, I've done political work with Bekken off and on since 1980. I first met him personally in 1986. So I've seen how he operates since before you were born.

I don't know what you are talking about in regards to shit smearing. I think you don't either. I've been raising these issues since 2001, since Buss started a covert campaign to smear me. When did you join and how are you so confident in the history?

But in anycase, at least I air the laundry. Other folks like to keep it hidden until it rots.

I just want to reiterate I don't think this is the place for this. I would advocate moving it to the FW's Brill's private forum where the background could be given in detail before we begin "shit-smearing" of any sort, but appears that's no longer in operation.

You're right, this shouldn't be a place for this. But remember last time when public posting (regards the bringing of new issues at a trial hearing w/o the accused able to defend himself) ceased with promises to take up the issue internally.

Never happened.

I do applaud the title of the thread tho, quite creative
