London Calling

Congratulations to the FWs in London who will host the next General Assembly. This will be the first time the GA has been held outside of North America.

Maybe we can start talking about creating a proposal for a delegate assembly, as BIROC folks would likely support this?

16 December, 2007 - 16:00

fuckin' get in!!!!

re. delegation - i'd be surprised if many BIROCers would oppose it. it seems a pretty sensible and democratic way of doing things.

Fuck Right!! I'm looking forward to meeting all my English (and European) comrades.

Hey I am really happy about that!

This means (I hope):
1 - The really loud old skool members will not have their voices over emphasized.
2 - Passing of all sorts of sensible things like delegate councils and an elected web committee (my personal project).
3 - I will have an excuse to visit old friends in Glasgow as well as meet loads of new UK and Euro wobs.
3.1 - Drinking, feasting and general partying will ensue.

Hey does anyone know the precise dates of a london GA?

17 December, 2007 - 00:58

i think the branch(or GEB) has to set the agenda and thus the exact dates.

17 December, 2007 - 04:04

The date is supposed to be fixed with the location, and technically, it was supposed to be set by the previous GA, but that has been sent to referendum last few years. i believe it will therefore have to be during US Labor Day, when it is customarily held. However, if someone has information to the contrary, please bring it.

Well my thinking is that they don't have labour day in the UK so if may be fair to move it around to suit local holidays.

ftony???

Making a joke - think about going to the middle coast of British Columbia in the summer, not especially warm. That's about where the UK is.

i assume it'll be labour day weekend. annoyingly it's one week after a nice long bank holiday weekend (and my birthday!).

summer in london is usually about 20-30 degrees C. not sure what that works out as in your crazy yankee temperatures, somewhere in the 70s perhaps?
