Strategy agenda we used

Hey,

On Nate's recommendation I thought I would share the agenda more or less as it happened for our branch's strategy meeting on Saturday:
http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dvb5b8z_8fpg57ncx

It was a good meeting, lively but focussed, the parts where people get up and do things helped I think. Also a certain IW editor went all out on a feast for lunch (veg/meat chillie, bread, fruit, juice, chocolate soymilk, cheese... mmmm....). I think that helped keep everyone in a good mood. I would NOT recommend doing this without some sort of decent food.

We came up with three main goals for the next year:
* Have one organizing drive which involves 60%+ of branch members
* Improve our communications with folks outside the branch (general public)
* Increase the diversity of membership in the union

So ask me in a year how it turns out. grin

Feel free to take this agenda and modify it to suit your needs. But let me know how it turns out, will you?

I got a lot of ideas from a really excellent book called Facilitator's Guide to Participatory Decision-making, which is really excellent. It's huge but that's mainly because pretty much every idea is represented both in text and as a picture. It is also layed out so that it can be photocopied easily.

I like the bit about colorblindness, very thoughtful...

It's the design/usability nerd in me....
