It was a good meeting, lively but focussed, the parts where people get up and do things helped I think. Also a certain IW editor went all out on a feast for lunch (veg/meat chillie, bread, fruit, juice, chocolate soymilk, cheese... mmmm....). I think that helped keep everyone in a good mood. I would NOT recommend doing this without some sort of decent food.
We came up with three main goals for the next year:
* Have one organizing drive which involves 60%+ of branch members
* Improve our communications with folks outside the branch (general public)
* Increase the diversity of membership in the union
So ask me in a year how it turns out.

I got a lot of ideas from a really excellent book called Facilitator's Guide to Participatory Decision-making, which is really excellent. It's huge but that's mainly because pretty much every idea is represented both in text and as a picture. It is also layed out so that it can be photocopied easily.
