It all seems to be back to normal. I couldn't actually get into the site at all for days. Had the same problem with apparently missing a months worth or so of posts but all looks good now

Yeah I went away and apparently the whole thing collapsed two hours after I left sad Got it back up last night and it's been pretty smooth since then, not that that means anything much any more!

Glad to hear the two months posts problem is fixed, as long as we don't get any odd relapses that ought to be fine from now on.

pretty much. Although we're likely to go down temporarily a couple more times until things are fixed up properly. I've narrowed down the issues a lot though, so it should improve gradually as we go on. Everything's backed up daily so there's very little chance of data loss when we do go down.

Basically we're learning how to tune mysql (database server) and apache (webserver) as we go along, and aren't too good at it yet. On this server we get a lot more control, but we also get more chances to fuck things up and less is done for us.

If anyone knows a lot about server tuning please get in touch!
