Bairstow Eves

Submitted by Locke on 4 February, 2008 - 20:34.

Random topic - has anyone sign the 'For Sale' signs for Bairstow Eves estate agents. It is practically the anarchist flag (well anarcho-communism).... I wonder if they realise......

How was that worth starting an account for?

4 February, 2008 - 20:36

Lol, I didn't start an account JUST for that.... I just saw one earlier and thought I'd mention it

It's obviously an ironic joke.

The signs that say you gotta be 18 to buy fags here are more that a bit like the syndicalist flag as well.

plus the ANC parcel couriers have a striking green and black diagonal motif not dissimilar to a primmo flag.

Lmao neither Locke, (just got called it after being called" Ki" for a bit - short for Kieran) - though I'd rather it was the Locke of the Enlightenment over the Lost character lol...

I've not seen the ANC courier sign.. I'll have to look out for that lol

There's a character called Mickael Bakunin. Lost ftw.

5 February, 2008 - 18:54

Yeah, I had heard that.... I keep meaning to watch it, but I'm just a lazy bastard

6 February, 2008 - 18:23

i watched it for a bit, then i realised that they were just making it up as they went along and they were never going to explain anything but were just going to keep on introducing more and more weird stuff until everyone got bored and fucked off, so i did

judging by the 'ANSWERS ARE COMING' posters stuck up everywhere to advertise the new series i wasn't the only one

Did you think it was a documentary before, yeh?

No i thought they'd planned the story out beforehand so that it would hang together in some kind of sensible fashion and things that happened would be explained at some point, not that they would just think every week, "hmm, what bizarre thing can we introduce to the 'storyline' this week"

6 February, 2008 - 19:39

I still like it. Don't be a snob, its not shakespeare - its fun.

6 February, 2008 - 19:57

i'm not saying it's not 'high' enough culture or anything like that, and i did enjoy it for a while, it's just there's only so long you can be strung along waiting for explanations of what's going on before you realise that even the people writing it don't have a clue

if answers really are coming then i might watch it again

6 February, 2008 - 19:58

They have an end point set and a storyline to get them there.
