bench vs bodyweight

I just did 30 pullups, not all at once followed by 50 close hand pressups, not at once and I am feleing way more sore than when I hit the weights, is bodyweight better for pumps and strength gains, I heard you cant pack mass on this way though??

Bodyweight's ok is you got no access to free-weights, but if you want size gains, hit free weights focusing on big compound lifts.

I went from fighting at 65kg in 2007 to being 83kg in 2010 by lifting two fullbody days a week religiously. I'm back down to 76kg now as I'm grappling a shitload more and not lifting as much.

But this is what I had huge strength gains with, included my 1rep max:

Day 1
Bench 5x5 (1rm 82.5kg)
Squat 5x5 (1rm 122.5kg)
Rows 5x5 (1rm 92.5kg)

Day 2
Deadlift 5x5 (1rm 152.5kg)
Military Press 5x5 (1rm 65kg)
Chins/pullups variations 5x8-10

Yeah I was doing heavy compound lifts up until recently but i got bored, I was doing deadlifts, squatts bench, dips(weighted) etc but it gets stale after awhile.

I have a new goal of reaching 50 consecutive pullups by next january, should be doable.

Not bad for a vegan, except your bench, what's with that? smile

Imagine how strong you'd be if you dropped the hippy diet and ate tasty, tasty flesh.

It seems low compared to your deadlifts. 3:4:5 is I think the typical ratio of bench/squats/deads

Why don't we stop fooling around with all this talk of lifting and settle the matter by posting pictures of our cocks.

Your a legend who appreciates good beats and could probably drop some insightful words when stoned, this means you have biceps of the mind and can deadlift the entire spiritual world, jeez I kinda rambled on, I should probably end this now

Well... bout time to be hittin the old dusty trail.
