I actually thought that I could no longer be surprised by the stupidity of indymedia comments, but I was wrong. Why are the BNP growing? Because the "zionists" want them to.

There is a big difference between Zionism and Judaism...
I will say this again and again...
Zionism = Nationalism
Judaism = A religion and culture...etc
Having gone through the Bundist Movement (Jewish Labor Bund, which by the way is not Zionist whatsoever) as a kid and teenager I still hold the belief that Jews ceased to be a nation when the temple was destroyed 2000 years ago or so.
Having been born into an incredibly secular Jewish family, I have some sort of cultural connection with my background yet I do not believe in any deity of any sort as I find the concept to be a crock of shit...hence I am an atheist. I still would get pissed off at somebody hanging shit on me because of my background.
Zionists are not always Jewish either...the Zionist movement like all nationalist movements are fucking evil and should be stopped. Pinning issues about Israel on Jews and Jews alone (instead of the Zionists) is wrong as it gives further recognition to the existence of the State of Israel and therefore represents all Jews worldwide. It would be like saying that Iran is a Islamic State therefore they speak for Muslims and lets put Muslims in the category Pro-Iran...that makes no sense and it is plain and simply unfair.
For the record Anti-Semitism applies to anybody of a Semitic background, which includes Muslims from the Middle East region as well...Semite is a more Anglo/Latin derrivative from the term "People of/Descendants of Shem". Unfortunately the term "anti-semitism" is only applied to Jews as they seemed to have won the race to that flag over the other Semitic ethnicities.
It is not racism either in the true sense as the Jews are not a race. Neither are the Muslims. There are Jews and Muslims from all parts of the globe.
To go on and say that Anti-Semitism is a Jewish lie and then swing back and take pot shots at racists, ruling class oppressors, fascists...etc is quite contradictory. It is like saying that racism is a lie concocted by people of colour to get back at "whitey". We should all know that idea is complete and utter bollocks.
Not all Jews are rich, powerful, evil people who want to rule the world...to say that they are would be exactly like labelling all Muslims as "terrorists". Again it would be unfair.
Zionism is what needs to be attacked in this case...

Even though this is the non-serious bit of libcom, it is worth saying that even if 'semite' has a definition which applies to non-juice, antisemitism as a historical phenomenon and ideology is explicity concerned with juice, and always has been. So this kind of semantic argument is pretty much a waste of time, IMO.
