brighton is swell
I have no idea whether this has been posted here already or if it's trodden narcho knowledge, but i just found out the other day that not only does brighton have a bus called Harry Cowley (all the busses down here are named apparently) who was a local anarchist, but there's also a bus named Peter kropotkin too!
That warms me up to think that old K is still lurking around, coughing and splurting at all the yuppies about. Aghh
Also, another thing i found is the Freedom Press archive at sussex uni library! Its not massive really, but its got some very very old anarchist fliers inside, a Kropotkin one from 1920 (or it could be a photocopy which someone oldified with a teabag), and a load of freedom journals from the 60's.
There arent enough emoticons to express my joy and satisfaction
Peter kropotkin too!
He used to edit Freedom in one of the rooms, in i think it's the eagle, in the north laines.
hey, how comes i've been pseudonamed captain haddock??
Alright Bokonon!
Dont see u much on here recently... Thats pretty fucking cool about the busses... its taken you a little while to notice tho hasnt it?

But its also pretty wierd they name the busses - they have them written on the sides or what?!
They name the trains on the line from fenchurch street to shoeburyness, I think they are named after ex-employees or something like that. Pretty strange.
I can kidna understand that... but naming a bus Kropotkin is just a bit random!

It's because he has a connection to brighton.

Yeah there was a big feature on him in the Brighton local paper a little while back. Also, he didn't edit Freedom, Charlotte Wilson did, he helped.
That is very cool though Bakonon! (nice to "see" you, btw
) If you could get a picture of it we'll use it on the site somewhere

That's probably bacause the writers have bought a holiday home down here with the rest of the yuppie scum (although that's been a historical trend, since the fuckin victorian era at least), driving the rest of us further an further out, the council using it as an excuse to up the council tax, cos we're so fucking affluent, yadda, yadda, yadda...
Aaahhh the joys of gentrification, CUNTS!
Not, hanging head in shame!

Wow, xTx your are a legend for finding this site! I havent felt like this much of a geek since i memorised the names of all the Sega departmental heads back in the sega saturn days! important info!
