After winning his 3rd fight in just over 2wks 9 video ), people are calling for him to return to UFC
He's a on a 6-win streak and has fought some decent oppositiong like Mark Kerr.

i'm pretty sure you're not kidding at all 
btw - i'd no idea he actually left UFC (i dont really keep up with ultimate fighting, i just watch the occasional match - saw a really good fight last night, forget the names of the guys, but one of them was wearing trunks which had "CONDOM DEPOT" written in big letters right on his arse which was lovely).
uh, anyway - why'd he leave UFC?

Ah I think it's cos he wanted to fight in Pride. He fought at the final Pride (no.34) 2yrs ago, and then Pride got bought up by UFC. Since then he's been fighting for various promotions.
He was explaining at his talk here that in ther UFC it normally works that you're signed up for a few fights at a time, normally a 3-fight deal, then you're a free agent again as such. In his last flurry of UFC fights (57, 59, 61 all wins, and 65 lost title match) he proved himself legit at the highest level, but many still think he's just too short for MMA at 5'8" - not a problem when grappling as he's a monster and one of the best in the world, but when strikes are added he's often at a reach disadvantage and unable to play the game he'd like.

Unfortunately it'll probably never happen, Costa's a 205er and Monson's something like 250 these days!
But fuck, it would be amazing to see Monson rip his head off.
