Only in America would there be a sufficient amount of people sufficiently mental and dorky to establish a fad for setting up rather weird roleplay Myspace profiles for their cats. I mean, I do like cats, a lot, but Jesus.

I would trade your life for Zelda's in a split second without even having to put thought into it.

yes i know, it took a great amount of will power to stop my drunken self posting an inappropriate response to your myspace bulletin.

now you can get a proper pet, like this kick ass Keeshond.

18 September, 2007 - 04:57

1. Cats
2. I also value Zelda over Alan
3. What kind of worthless, pathetic loser feels the need to be snarky and obnoxious to someone who lost a pet? Just when I thought my opinion couldn't get any lower...
4. Really, cats, such the obvious choice.

She was insulting Alan. Not every comment on Libcom is about you and/or me. smile

18 September, 2007 - 05:35

Bollox it was clearly aimed at me, afterall it was me who admitted to being tempted to be an obnoxious drunken prick about it, all Alan did was laugh at cat role playing shit.

18 September, 2007 - 05:36

What he said is true. It shows how alienated people are from each other when a relationship with an animal attains so much importance. It is not to say that people shouldn't be upset, but I think I am far from the only one who will be shocked/appalled by this public display of grieving over an animal.

Its amazing how everything you don't like is an example of everyone elses alienation.

Like what? What could be more alienating than liking your pet? I mean really!

18 September, 2007 - 06:40

Dogs are disgusting bags of shit that piss and shit everywhere.
Cats are mercenary selfish fucks.
Bollocks to both goddamn species.

I am not saying that there is anything wrong with liking your pet. I am saying that there it is an expression of alienation that relationships with animals become the equivalent of real human relationships. There is nothing wrong with being alienated either. We all are. The things that we tend to spot as being more alienated tend to be things that we don't do ourselves as it is easier to recognise it.

As an example of something that I like, which is alienated; going to football matches. I realise that it is completely vicarious, and the football crowd gives a false sense of community, which is better than none in a world where community is largely absent. I tend not to think of this at a match though.

Cats are bit more neurotic but they are better because they are more independent, useful for pest control and most importantly sophistcated. Don't beleive me that their more sophisticated, tell me what would this picture look like if there was a dog in it?

exactly, if that was a dog the picture would look ridiculous

Anyways I've already decided that if i get to 50 something and i'm living alone i'm blatantly going to become a crazy cat man with all my cats named after marxist intellectuals, and theres nothing you, or the public health and hygeine department in the local council can do to stop me.

you see that's already been done, with a dog called gramsci that eats the rich. so objectively speaking, you're wrong.
