the booze in former communist countries is often outstanding, especially the beer. czech rep, croatia, poland, east germany, all produced excellent beer and croatian wine is supposeldy good - tho not in my experience! dont fuck with the workers beer!

there is no need (with the exception of Western Cape Chenin Blanc/Steen) to rely on wine from there, Mediterranean wine is generally far superior
