Recommend some neat music videos for other people to watch.

He's a couple from me:

:> The Chemical Brothers - Out Of Control - I saw this on MTV years ago and forgot the name, didn't see it again till recently. MTV showed it without the ending though. The ending is the best bit 8)

:> The Faint - Agenda Suicide - see if you can spot revol68 in it

:> Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Y-Control - fucking great!

While no-one is doubting the awesomeness of refused, there videos were horrible, the only good video t(i)nc did were live concerts and obviously smash it up.

Plus i'd forgotten thursday and the beta band existed, i suspect you are intent on ruining my day. You are forgiven because you linked to pavement tho.

I'm guessing you wouldn't want to watch Rage's video for No Fear then?

Oh, come on! Bunny costumes, monster heads, screaming whilst swinging upside down....what more could you want in a music video?!

And Thursday's first 3 albums are immense, bitch.

Nah they were pathetic sub-situationist parodies of creativity. Forced out of dry cracked lips like the hoarse repetition of religious mantras.

Or perhaps they were just balls, either way refused were awesome musically, but their videos were without exception dreadful.

no its all pants, and they signed to victory, thus automatically meaning they have no musical standing whatsoever. I think i used to like waterdown and snapcase though, rather embarrassingly so this is just blatant hypocrisy anyway.

Rkn and John - Agrees re: the "Around the World" and "Star Guitar" vids. The Star Guitar vid is so beautiful..reminds me of an arid loong journey I made across Turkey once...Did you guys know the "Around the World" vid is representative of some maths and chemistry stuff..the amounts of peeps in each "scene" represent nos and types of atoms or summat...There was a fourpage article on this in Mixmag a while back...I understood the concept but not the details funnily enough... embarrassed Anyone else know about this?..suffice to say the Chemicals are...er...quite bright. neutral .Re:my own best vid....have to start work right now but will give it some thought....

What's the whole stigma attached to listening to RATM? They wrote some kicking tunes, introduced many thousands of people to a vague idea of communism and the second verse of this song is lyrically amazing:

Rage Against the Machine wrote:
Weapons not food, not homes, not shoes

Not need, just feed tha war cannibal animal

I walk tha corner to tha rubble that used to be a library

Line up to tha mind cemetery

What we don't know keeps tha contracts alive and movin'

They don't gotta burn tha books, they just remove 'em

While arms warehouses fill as quick as tha cells

Rally round tha family, pockets full of shells

EDIT: Oh OK they do seem a bit like trendy lefties. I reckon they were Trots although I was always assured that Zach de la Rocha was an anarchist. I remember being 14 and playing Guerrilla Radio to my class as part of an English presentation on them (not at all chosen cos I got to repeat the closing lyric of "Killing in the Name", I swear wink).

Stumbled across this searching for live Void videos, but I think Rattail might like this:

The Voids - LAPD

EDIT: Ah, this was what I was looking for:

Void - Who Are You (live)

A classic early 80s hardcore video, complete with questionable attire (green Bermuda shorts? A Ted Nugent shirt?), instruments cutting out due to drunken dudes stumbling around the stage, a mentally unhinged singer and a drummer just hitting things oblivious to the rest of the band.

yes i love those green bermuda shorts too!

Refused -- i dunno if Unsane have a video for Blew. I think White Hand is also pretty good.

one more gloriously unsettling weirdo video

Butthole Surfers -- Cherub

the naked painted cherub the angel guy running screaming thru the rail station (?) is intense! plus the song is sludgy psychedelic fantastic.

now for some nice videos.

I also like Sigur Ros' videos, including the jumping off the cliff one .

Smog -- Rock Bottom Riser one of the prettiest videos i've ever seen.

Alan - yes RATM rock and helped get me into radical politics definitely. Anyone who thinks that my political activity is in any way useful to the libertarian communist cause has to give them some of the credit twisted

Skraeling - I just found out where you got your name from star green black black bloc wink 8)
