They are amazing.
I started a tribute thread about them; it will be lurking in the libcommunity archives.

Cheers, didn't see your other link, an enjoyable hour.
Had no idea Becks once won a designer Crass t-shirt. Feck stupid JPG should have stuck to the pointy bras. Becks should totally have paid off the debt on Dial House; doubt if he ever got Penny's letter tho or would understand the first thing about the group's ethos of course.
If it were possible to isolate pure failure and put it to music, it would sound something like Crass.
I won't forget the expression on your face when i dug out the Crass at the Lair; it was a heady mix of fury and disdain.
Just as well we are friends
I heard them before and didn't really like it, i remember being annoyed by some rather self righteous pacifism or something like that
However I went to a festival a few weeks ago Penny Rimbaud was doing poetry there; it was really good, also he had some guy playing a violin with him and was getting proper into it, worked up a right sweat so he did

hey i saw crass in glasgow - we had more police INSIDE the plaza in south glasgow than the fan-type-people!
fuckin funny, i was 12 yo, a wee bit scared, got mashed on home-made beer after - destroyed my young brain.
but they were good - i get confused about people drolling on about class analysis - crass don't and that's good....
so there!
conor prefers britney, but since i've already apparently been deemed a lifestylist twat i must say:
'it all seems very easy, this revolution game. but when you start to really play, things won't be quite the same.
your intellectual theories about how it's going to be don't seem to take into account the true reality
because the truth of what you're saying, as you sit there sipping beer
is pain and death and suffering, but of course you wouldn't care."
i can't forgive the recent Feeding of the 5,000 reunion and didn't really like them, musically, back in the 70s/80s (in fact I thought they were a bloody racket) but they gave anarchism in this country a real boost. I still meet comrades who say Crass are the reason that they became anarchists. I did once own a Do They Own Us A Living? badge.

Yeh, that pretty much sums it up. $800 for whoever brings the pain death and suffering to anarchyjordan.
wow weener the price keeps going up. what a capitalist parasite you must be to have all that money to give to whoever brings me teh pain
hey look they be stealing your bucket walrus weener. go get it back!!!1!
I like you AJ.
I mean not cos you tease Weeler but in general. Nice new (ish! ) energetic person.
From that particular genre/era/place, I got into the subhumans more. I never liked Crass' way of wrapping itself in fascist/militaristic imagery. And, on a purely subjective level, the music stank.
But I can't deny that they were influential ... even over here in North America, and in the mid to late 80s no less, we had no shortage of "Crassholes" seemingly in spite of much better musical offerings from the domestic subculture (eg Bad Brains etc)
Oh, and Thatchergate was sheer brilliance. Too bad it was such an isolated incident - a thousand of those sorts of cuts could have had some real effect.
i like them
'middle class, working class, it's all a load of shit'
