Crocs banned in hospitals!

Submitted by Steven. on 5 September, 2007 - 13:20.

Ha, me n gav were talking about this yesterday. I wouldn't want to be treated by someone in crocs anyway

Quote:
Nurses are set to be banned from wearing Crocs shoes in hospital because the static electricity they produce could knock out vital medical equipment.

Health chiefs in South Yorkshire are the first to slap a ban on the popular rubber shoes after three pieces of important equipment in a Swedish hospital went down.

Swedish experts are blaming the dangerous blackout on the Crocs the hospital staff wear.

The employer will have to take care how exactly they word the ban. When I was a union rep, some dickhead manager decided he didn't want women coming to work in DMs. Unfortunately, he mentioned Doc Martens by name. I wrote to DMs about this, saying that one of the larger public sector employees in the country was seeking to ban their product. DMs then threatened to sue Her Majesty's Government. Happy days. grin

Hey nice one t' Button. grin

John - I agree - i wouldn't feel comfy being treated by a Crocs wearer either!! Not a great indicator of good judgement in the first instance. DM's are cool tho - especially my bright orange ones.

This NHS therapist i saw once - youngish attractive femme - bent over once and i saw her pink lace and leopard print semi-transparent g-string - it was a bit hard to concentrate on her words of wisdom after that!!

..... think of those poor nurses on their feet all day, and you don't want them to wear comfortable shoes. You monsters.

6 September, 2007 - 00:18

Does anybody know of a way I could get crocs banned from my workplace? There's no real health and safety risk posed, but it's just bad taste.

6 September, 2007 - 00:20

what's a croc? sad

6 September, 2007 - 00:21

How the fuck that something made of plastic be comfortable, anyway? confused

ah! didnt know what you were talking about till rogue showed the picture.

they could be as comfortable as walking on air, i'd never wear anything as gaudy as those things. see people with them all the time, hideous things, even when not pink. was wondering why i was seeing tons of adults wearing footwear which was clearly made for children.

Whenever I see them, I think how uncomfortable the last plastic shoes I recall where:

Oh i meant cos i found that erotic - not that what she was saying didn't make sense - it was just hard to focus on it. : grin (Also i should never have been referred to her in the first place! it was a NHS referral from my GP who knew it was for general counselling - i was surprised that the directions took me to this place where there were posters re: STDs and AIDS and stuff on the walls - I had been sent by mistake to the clap clinic! grin Thanks for that!! roll eyes wink She asked me if my probs were anything to do with sex - i said they weren't but they could be... groucho wink )

John who is Curb and are they male or female??

John - a woman in a thong is completely different to a man in a thong. Bite me, Arf.

So Curb is a man then?? KNEW it - such a disappointment! sad

Yeah a man in a thong is a travesty - always makes me think of Peter Stringfellow - urgh! [wants to hurl]

Hey Alan thanks - awesome!!

Thought Curb was some weirdo John hangs out with!! grin

Nah my therapeutic thong moment was not disquieting - just unexpected. In a really good way. cool

(Also i met her way before "Curb" came out! )

Personally I tend to find those who wear g-strings or leopard print particularly unattractive. Those pink lace ones were big a year or 2 ago (as in, they were in all the shops, not attempting to imply that I get sufficient "action" to be able to testify about trends in women's underwear, before the Wankfast clique get on it).

7 September, 2007 - 01:00

Yeah g-strings and leopard print are awful esp. together!! But this was a nice surprise as it was soo unexpected - the rest of the outfit was standard issue dowdy counsellor (tho i am not dowdy either but you know what i mean.. we are talking mostly frumpy tops, long shapeless skirts, dangly earrings, no make up and an earnest expression combined with a sense of cluelessness as to how the world works! grin ) plus she was attractive! tongue

7 September, 2007 - 01:00

Haha, Wankfast, that's really funny.

G-strings, however, not fucking funny. Yuck.

7 September, 2007 - 01:02

One friend told me they were more comfortable.

Yeah i had one friend tell me that too! grin

How comfortable?? In what way? How can wearing a glorified bit of dental floss on your below bits ever be comfortable?? Luckily all the other females i know agree with me that they are hideously uncomfortable - and tacky. Not in a good way. wink

7 September, 2007 - 01:49

you're all insane neutral

7 September, 2007 - 03:16

Alan if i was you i wouldn't be so fucking fussy about ladies underwear.

saying that the girl i'm infactuated with wears leopard print nickers and if i was being totally honest i'd pretty much be happy to let her piss in my mouth.... ho hum such is life.

7 September, 2007 - 03:18

also LW my first love wore g strings and she was shy as fuck, she swore to fuck they were more comfortable.

Like i have said everyone knows one person who says they are comfortable. grin it would be interesting if it were the same person everyone knew.

Btw the ONLY thing i know about your first love is that she wore g-strings. Mebbe tell me something else about her at some point as it seems a bit odd to only have that one fact. grin

7 September, 2007 - 11:14

Fact - nobody who claims g-strings are more comfortable has ever worn French knickers.

7 September, 2007 - 13:28

The way I understand it, g-strings are comfortable "once you've gotten used to them." I guess once you are used to constantly having a wedgie, you prefer it.

Yeah i think that is it. grin Peeps get used to a lot of awful stuff (like life under capitalism! wink ) but that doesn't mean it is a good thing! They get comfortable with the discomfort. It's what they know.

Grace

I used to tease my elderly mum a bit when younger about her preference for French knickers and corsets and stuff - now i am no longer a miserable teen i get it!! smile French knickers are fab.

Not true.
Still don't see how they could be more comfortable though, most people don't want their underwear disappearing up their crack.
