I loves it. Not that Irish diddly-dee shit, either. Proper English folk music with songs about foxhunting, people getting murdered, drowning sailors, etc. It's my dark musical secret, and also the first kind of music I seriously got into. I've even been paid for performing it, ffs. I'm such a prick.
Anyway, feel free to use this thread to take the piss out of me for my appalling taste in music. Or alternatively, to post up your own musical embarassments.

I likes it - English too, but especially Scottish stuff and not old guys whining on about Loch Lomond. I was the other day studying to Fairport Convention. Which I followed with a good bit of drum 'n' base.

Peach Plum Pear by Joanna Newsom is luverly, in her other songs she reminds me a bit of Regina Spektor who I like a million times more.
Kate Rusby was good until she tried singing with Ronan Keating and sold her self out maaaaan.

Fuck. Wasn't there shitloads of Goldsmiths twats into "folk" when I was there? I was on placement most of the year so didn't see students but remember a few posters for shit folk stuff about New Cross - and even some fuckin gig with morris dancers. Wise the fuck up you lot!
