When necessary and aimed at the right people, violence is a good thing.
Right people = anyone who tries forcibly to stop the expropriation of capital by those who work it, on-duty police & soldiers, violent thugs (fascists, rapists, etc but only when they're out doing their violence or organizing to cause harm), fake ass "revolutionaries" who go around killing everyone, etc.
Wrong people = innocent bystanders, combatants who are not on duty, etc.
When unnecessary and aimed at the wrong people, violence is authoritarianism.
And as for the story above about what I'm assuming was a Palestinian/Lebanese boy if I were him I would have blown myself up next to that watch tower. Fuck the IDF, I hope they all kill each other so nobody else has to do it. Dirty Zionist bastards.

In fairness, while I partially agree, in the fash thread, most people did engage him with a decent level of argument and he kept ignoring it and complaing about one person being mean to him.

Never been Madrid so I can't comment on the relative prominence of FNB as compared to CGT/CNT but if you're stained with the heritage of North American anarchism (which has to be the ideologically weakest strand in the "Western" world) then I suppose it makes sense that you drift into FNB and squat gigs as a passive spectator until you meet a cenetista in that scene who kicks you up the ass, or of course you get a job. I saw it in amongst some Mexican anarchists, for all their rhetoric about "American imperialism" they certainly didn't resist the hegemony of bankrupt ideas and lifestylist bullshit imported from the US vegan/anarcho-punk scene.

There is no "FNB crowd". My friends and I are FNB.
CNT/CGT related events, demos, or what have you are either promoted at blogs and squats or are kept within a relatively small sphere within a collective. It is not like you just show up at their doors and they welcome you for some sort of activism. It is a lot more personal. You have to make friends, find them, etc.
And so far, I'm doing a lot better with them than I do with creepy Stalinist stalker fucks like the "anarchists" of libcom. One of them even drove me to the metro after a Nazi attack (which, unlike you schmucks might conclude, I had no problem with resisting considering the bastards came at one of ours from the back and left his face bloody after a protest...hardly the same as smacking people in the face for their thoughts)
